While it’s not required, we will always recommend renters insurance! The majority of the liability falls on the shoulders of the renter. The renter is responsible for any damages their stored items incur except in cases of negligence (i.e., not doing something a reasonable person would have done) or damage caused directly by the host (or other authorized parties). While we have never had a renter's items be damaged, we always encourage them to have insurance as an added layer of protection. 

If your renter would like to purchase insurance, refer them to a Neighbor Customer Success representative at support@neighbor.com for insurance options. Typically renters insurance is about $10 per month. 

If you'd like to require that your renters purchase insurance, you can also add this condition to your listing description.
