First, don’t send them money (or accept payment), and let us know. This is for your safety and protection. All reservations are required to stay on our secure platform and we make payment really easy for both renters and hosts.
Reservations and agreements made outside of Neighbor violate our terms of service. If we find that a separate agreement was made around Neighbor, we will cancel the reservation, deactivate the accounts of the both parties, and charge a $200 disintermediation fine.
If a Neighbor host or renter asks to pay or get paid off of the website (cash, Venmo, Zelle, Paypal, etc.) or through another payment platform, please report it to us by sending an email to firstname.lastname@example.org. If a renter is not sure how they paid, they can check if a reservation was booked through Neighbor by logging into their Neighbor.com profile and clicking on “My Rentals”.
