**_A top-notch profile is key to your success_**

First impressions count, which is why creating a stellar profile is critical to your success. Ready to get started? We’re here to help you, step-by-step.

## Profile Photo

Let’s be honest, nobody wants to deal with a faceless stranger online, which is why uploading a profile photo is critical for your success on Neighbor. A solid profile photo makes potential renters feel more comfortable choosing your space, and will significantly impact your booking rate.

**_Ask yourself: Would I store my items in someone’s space if I didn’t know what they looked like?_**

**How to upload:**

* **Log In**: First things first, log in to your Neighbor account
* **Navigate**: Head over to the top right corner of your screen where your name is displayed, click the drop-down arrow, and select “Profile”
* **Upload**: Select “Upload Profile Picture” under the photo bubble and hit “Choose file.” From there, you’ll be able to select a photo from your computer or camera roll
* **Choose wisely**: It’s important to select a high-quality, clear photo where your face is visible. Try to avoid heavy filters!
* **Save**: Once you find the perfect photo, you’ll press the “Save” button to save this photo to your profile
* **Ta-da! Your profile picture is all set**

# Bio

_**A compelling bio sets the tone for a great rental experience**_

Now that you’ve found the perfect profile photo, it’s time to focus on your bio. This is your chance to show potential renters who you are and what makes your space special. Don’t be afraid to let your personality show!

###

### Writing your bio

* **Length:** A brief bio can be effective, but a bio that’s too short may not provide enough information to build trust or offer key details. Aim for a bio that’s at least 25 words long.

* **Focus on trust**: Authenticity goes a long way in building trust. Share relevant details like how long you’ve lived in the area or what fuels your passion for the community. Do avoid oversharing to maintain personal security.

* **Location details:** Sharing unique details about your space and neighborhood can build trust and make your listing more appealing. Do you live in a quiet, safe neighborhood? Is the space secluded? Do you work from home and monitor the space frequently? These are all things to consider when writing your bio.

* **What’s your motive:** Quickly touch on why you’re hosting. Whether you’re saving for a trip, paying medical bills, or just trying a new side hustle, sharing these details makes you relatable and can form a connection with renters.

#### **Example Bio:**

_“Hi there! I’m Emily, a nature enthusiast and long-time resident of Utah. My property has a spacious and secure garage available for rent, perfect for your vehicles or personal items. I work from home, so I can keep an eye on the space throughout the day for added peace of mind._

_I’m hosting this space on Neighbor to save up for a camping trip across the national parks. I pride myself in being responsive and reliable, so if you have questions or need any help, let me know!”_
